Do you have anyone in your family who refuses to eat salad, thinking it's rabbit food? My brother often says he has a deal with rabbits – they don't eat his food and he doesn't eat theirs.
Many people think salad is boring and I agree if you just chop up vegetables and do nothing more. For a birthday I was served cherry tomatoes and arugula with pizza, for me it will be tame. I think it is appropriate to spice up the salad with spicy vegetables, different types of dressing, pickled chilies or a spicy chutney. Sometimes it is also good with just salt, pepper and lemon juice.
