Hooray for this tasty sauce, I was really excited about this flavor! I have always loved paprika and I use it a lot for spreads, salads and wok etc. You can vary with red/green/yellow according to taste or what you have in the fridge. I got the idea from my daughter who in 9th grade made something similar for a food and health project.
Mango puree can be used for so many things, not just desserts and drinks, but also in cooking. It's not really that common in Punjabi cuisine, but other states in India. Here I've been playing around with something new and what was so cool was that my mom, who was visiting recently, said that they ate this in the summer in India!!! Strange that I should be able to make something that I've never heard of or tasted and is Indian??
Raita is a cold dip or sauce that balances the strong spicy flavors of an Indian meal. It can be used for tapas, barbecues, with roasted meat or fish or as a side dish for vegetables. In my raita mix package I have spicy balls of chickpea flour that swell up a little after 10-15 minutes.
Yippi, the mango season is here. In India, our mangoes are being harvested and are now at their best! Unfortunately, we won't get the fantastic mangoes in fresh condition, but we'll definitely try next year. AND just to emphasize, it's the same as Norwegian strawberries. No one above and no one next to, there's no doubt about that, right?
