Naan is known as the delicious festive bread in India. The main ingredients are wheat flour, butter/oil, leavening agent and milk/sour milk or water. It is originally made in a tandoor which is a barrel-shaped clay oven that is fired with coal and the bread is made inside at the top of the wall. It is finished in barely a couple of minutes and lifted off with a skewer. The icing on the cake is when it is finished by brushing with ghee clarified butter or regular dairy butter.
In India it is not common to make naan at home since the food is cooked on gas, naan is eaten in restaurants or ordered from fast food restaurants. You can make naan in several different ways with and without filling. With and without spices and by mixing different types of flour. Here you see how it can be made in a small tandoor from one of my previous trips to India.

On March 23rd, I will have my own naan course where the taste buds will be able to indulge in slightly different flavors than "regular naan". At the course center we have a modern and well-equipped kitchen, but simple enough so that the participants can make it when they get home. I grew up in Norway and know what Norwegians are curious about, so I have made the recipes with care and have been tested and used by several thousand participants. After this course, you will, as I usually say; be surprised at how easy it is! If you would like to sign up, I have a few places left. Send me an email at niru@masalamagic.com for more information :)
