Fusion food is found in all world cuisines. This is a modern term, but it is something that has existed for all the years of the Lord. Sailors traveled the world and brought spices and eating habits home with them. Flavors or spices that were exciting were used in traditional food. Fish balls in white sauce with curry are a classic example and can definitely be called fusion food. Some people found love on the other side of the globe and brought a new world of food with their partner. Not only do people take habits from abroad, but they also leave their food traditions behind, and we also find many such examples in Indian cuisine.
Sandwich is a good example of Indian/English fusion food. With England as a colonial power, the natives learned to bake bread and biscuits for their new countrymen. Breakfast with stuffed prantha among Indians + loaf for Englishmen = sandwich with filling. When the English were in India, they left behind several such habits and here is a lovely flavor composition, which I like to eat once a week.
When I was little, my mom would make them quickly in the frying pan directly, but the best way is to use a toast iron. With or without butter, with coarse or fine bread, the choice is yours.
