Ham roast is part of Christmas and I have now made my second variation. A little more spice than usual, but got really good feedback. It was eaten up in no time.
Here is a simple marinade, since we have spices in the roast, I serve mild mashed potatoes (only with salt, pepper and grated nutmeg). Vegetables are roasted in a little oil in a frying pan with salt and garam masala.
This is what you need:
750 gr ham roast
1½ tsp salt
1 teaspoon turmeric
2 tablespoons grated ginger
3 cloves grated garlic
1 tsp garam masala
3 tsp dried fenugreek
Optional chili powder if desired
Procedure:
Mix the spices and spread on the roast, working the marinade well into the cuts.
Put 3-4 dl of water-sized onion cubes or vegetables in the bottom and roast in a baking pan. Cover with foil and steam everything in the middle of the oven at 230 ° for about 45 minutes. Remove the foil, turn the heat down to 175 ° and continue roasting with a meat thermometer until it reads 74 ° (well done).
Let the roast rest for 15-20 minutes before cutting into thick slices.
You can find the sauce HERE . This was the icing on the cake according to the test subjects.
WELCOME!
