This is not a traditional Indian recipe. I simply used the girls as guinea pigs to see if there might be something to be gained from adding more spices to a fish soup. Like most things, this was well received and mom is happy!
Indian fish soup
3 tablespoons oil
2 carrots
A few bunches of broccoli
A little turnip
1 teaspoon turmeric
salt and pepper
½ tsp garam masala
2 tablespoons flour
4 dl water
300 gr cod fillet
2-3 tablespoons lime juice
1 dl heavy cream
fresh coriander
Procedure:
- Heat oil, add carrots and broccoli, or other vegetables of your choice. Add spices.
- Mix flour and water, add to the pot and add water. After a few minutes, add fish pieces and lime juice. Let simmer until the fish is cooked through.
- Finish with cream and fresh coriander.
- Served with a pinch of garam masala and cumin-spiced papadam .
