Spicy chicken with mushrooms

Chicken can be combined with most things and why not try something different from the old familiar? Today I thought I would offer baby mushrooms. I have heard several people say: "there is no taste in it" , but that is precisely where masala magic comes in - that is, working magic with spices! A boring head of cauliflower or mushrooms becomes inviting and tempting. This dish can safely be repeated at our place as the first comment was: "it smells really good, mom" , and then the mother is quite happy!

The only thing that takes a little time is cleaning the mushrooms, luckily I had a fairly clean basket, but they should still be brushed well with a brush as they should not be rinsed. There may be soil in the pits.

CHICKEN WITH MUSHROOMS

4 tablespoons oil

100 gr onion strips

2 cloves garlic

1 tbsp grated ginger

1 dl crushed tomatoes

¾ tsp turmeric

1 teaspoon ground coriander seeds

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1.5 teaspoons salt

1 tsp chili powder

1 teaspoon ground pepper

500 g chicken pieces

250 gr baby mushrooms

¾ tsp garam masala

2 tablespoons fresh mint

Procedure:

  • Heat oil, add onion strips and fry the onion until it changes color.
  • Add crushed garlic and grated ginger. Fry for a minute and continue with tomatoes and spices.
  • Mix well and add chicken pieces, after 5 minutes add cleaned mushrooms.
  • Let everything cook under a lid for 10 minutes.
  • Finish with garam masala and fresh mint.
