International Yoga Day

Yesterday was International Yoga Day, celebrated all over the world. In Delhi, almost 40,000 people practiced the ancient Indian postures in 41 degrees Celsius, wow! The reward was a full-blown monsoon, but fortunately after the event. See more from India here .

Norway's largest yoga class.

Anyone who has been involved in large events knows that it is a collaboration between many enthusiasts that results in a successful event. I don't know all the details or all the parties involved.

Many thanks to the Indian Embassy and Ambassador Mr. Browne who were the driving force behind arranging this event. A big thank you to Telenor who made the arena available free of charge, not least to the 1400 participants who made the day a fantastic experience. It was fun to see so many familiar faces, and to train with my sporty 75 year old mom and my dear Sunil. The participation was 50/50 Norwegians and Indians, and the event was recorded and will be shown in India later. Strangely enough, there was no coverage from Norwegian media?

It started with live violin, tabla and sitar music from Shrilal Sehajpal with his son Jai Shankar, ( Scandinavia's best tabla player ) and daughter Rohini. The session was divided into two, it started with Navneet and Sumeet on stage, where the video below was shown:

Mr Browne came and gave an introduction. Then there was yoga in two sessions led by Jane and Anneline. It all ended with a fantastic Kathak dance by Lavleen Kaur and the Indian national anthem.
