MINT LASSI

Lassi means a drink made from fermented milk, it can be sweet or spicy. This type of drink goes great with spicy food because it balances the digestive system. When we eat strong spices, the temperature in the body increases and when you eat raita or drink lassi you cool down. I think kefir or buttermilk are best, natural yogurt is too sour in taste.

I have taught you about mango lassi before, it is sweet and delicious. Lassi made from mint has an extra cooling effect, which is why it is very popular in the summer in India where it can get up to 50 degrees.

Now we can get fresh mint all year round and it is easy to make this refreshing drink. From experience I know that Norwegian palates find this a bit special, as they prefer sweet lassi due to their habit of fruit yogurt and Biola. I am sharing the recipe anyway because it is a taste you can get used to, and I would also love to hear from you what you think of this taste?

MINT LASSI (2 servings)

10 grams of mint leaves

½ l kefir or cultured milk
5-6 dl water

1 teaspoon salt

4–5 ice cubes

You can vary the recipe with the amount of mint, I love mint and think there should be that much in it for it to be a mint lassi.

Procedure:

Everything is crushed with a hand blender. Best suited for summer heat.

Ps! If you have some papadams as a simple snack with this, you'll actually feel a little full!
